Goreville- Charles Edward Manier, age 51, of Goreville, passed away at 2:00am on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at his home in Goreville.
Charles was born in Belleville on May 29, 1963, the son of Carl and Alona (Cavins) Manier.
Mr. Manier was very active in the Goreville United Methodist Church. He had attended Marion High School, graduating in 1963. He attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale where he received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology and Chemistry. He proudly served in the United States Air Force Reserves. Mr. Manier taught one semester at Harrisburg High School. He then taught twenty eight years at Anna-Jonesboro High School where he coached track, football, and basketball. Mr. Manier also served as a track and field official including six state meets. Ed also formed an outdoor education club and worked on many projects for Cypress Creek National Refuge. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and took many trips to Canada and Arkansas.

Wife- Yevette Manier of Fort Campbell, KY
Step-Daughters- Jennifer and Justine Kraft of Fort Campbell, KY

He was preceded in death by his mother- Alona Manier, paternal grandparents- Carl and Eva Manier, and his maternal grandparents- Ruben and Evelyn Cavins.
Funeral services will be held at 6:30pm on Tuesday evening, August 26, 2014 at the Goreville United Methodist Church with Pastor Ed Hoke and Pastor Bob Manier officiating. Visitation will be held 5-8pm on Monday, August 25, 2014 at the Goreville United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be held at 10am on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Cana Cemetery in Goreville. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the cemetery for interment. Blue Funeral Home in Goreville is handling final arrangements.
