Edward Lee Odum

Edward Lee Odum MARION-Edward Lee Odum, 86, of Marion passed away at 9:15 PM, Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at V. A. Medical Center in Marion. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Following the visitation he will be taken to Rose Hill Cemetery for burial next to his mother. Mr. Odum was born on June 24, 1922 in Marion to Dixon E. and Edith (Hawkins) Odum. Survivors include his cousins, Mary Newman and Mary Alice Newell both of Marion. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Odum formerly worked at a department store in the Chicago area. He graduated from Marion High School and later attended Southern Illinois University. He formerly attended First Baptist Church in Marion. He served his country with the United States Army during World War II. He was an accomplished classical pianist.
