Marion-
Edward Lee Jackson died on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at the VA Nursing Home in Marion, IL. He was 80 years old.
Visitation will be at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion, IL on Saturday, July 28th beginning at 10:00am followed by the funeral service at noon. Military rites will be at Zion Cemetery in Ozark, IL, prior to burial. Pastor Ed Krantz will officiate.
Ed was born in Johnson County on October 14th, 1931 to Eugene and Ruth (Nance) Jackson. He married Laverne Wilkins on November 7th, 1952. She died in February 1999 from cancer. Ed and Mary had a son, Mark of Harrisburg, and a daughter, Theresa of Burna, KY. Mark has 2 daughters, Ryan and Aaron and 5 grandchildren. Theresa is married to Glen Graham and they have three daughters, Amy, Sarah and Heather as well as 2 grandchildren.
Ed served in the US Army, was a member of the Lions Club in Harrisburg, IL and was an auctioneer for many years working with his good friend, John Endsley. He was licensed to preach the gospel in December 6th, 1967 and was ordained on September 17th, 1972. He pastored a number of churches during his many years of spreading Gods Word and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Freewill Baptist Church in Poordo, IL.
Ed remarried on July 12, 1999 and spent many happy years with his second wife, Loretta E. (Davis) Lambert. Loretta was previously married to Raymond E. Lambert who died on February 15th, 1997 from a heart attack. They (Raymond and Loretta) had two daughters and three sons, all still living: Ellen L. Lambert of Marion, IL, Pauline and husband, David Tucker of Nashville TN, Eddie Lambert and wife LaRonda of Crab Orchard, IL, Roy Gene Lambert and wife Lois of Belleville, IL and Jason Jake Lambert and his spouse David Murad of Dallas, TX as well as a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and four brothers, Gary, Jim, Harold, and infant Earl Eugene.
He is survived by his wife Loretta, his children, her children, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and his brother George Jackson of Stonefort, IL.
