Edith B. Groves MARION-Edith B. Groves, 81, of Marion passed away at 8:42 AM, Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 18, 2007 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Scott Kallem officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 18, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Davis Prairie Cemetery, east of Marion. Mrs. Groves was born on July 22, 1925 in Williamson County, Illinois to William and Mary (Bullinger) Youngblood. She married Robert Groves on January 5, 1945 in Johnston City, Illinois; he preceded her in death in November of 1992. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Rosemary and Robert Burns of Stonefort and Brenda and Michael Claxton of Crainville; granddaughter and husband, Rosemary Beth and Orvil Garris, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Johnny, Everett, Earnest and Marion Youngblood; and sister, Reda Livingston. Mrs. Groves previously attended Springhill Missionary Baptist Church for many years and in 1993 joined Third Baptist Church in Marion. She and her husband owned and operated Groves Filling Station on East Main Street in Marion for over 50 years. She was a homemaker and loved to read and cook.
