Earl Pulley, Jr.
MARION-Earl Pulley Jr., 87, of Marion passed away peacefully in his sleep at 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 26, 2009, at Fountain Court in Maple Valley, WA following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 2, 2009 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Richard G. Mohr officiating. Military rites will be held at the funeral home by VFW Post 1301, American Legion Post 147 and the National Guard. Entombment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy. Memorials may be made to Providence Hospice of Seattle, 425 Pontius Avenue North, Suite 300, Seattle, Washington 98109.
Mr. Pulley was born August 27, 1921 in Marion, Illinois to Earl W. and Myrtle G. (Fiveash) Pulley. He married Dorothy Ann Martin on December 5, 1942; she preceded him in death on July 31, 2006.
Survivors include his five children, Carol Ann Pulley of Maple Valley, Washington, Marcia Jo & John Lattig of Portland, Oregon, Barbara Lou & Dennis Bressert of Spruce Pine, North Carolina, Richard Earl & Janeen Pulley of Washington, Utah and Jo Ellen & Rick Onyshko of Chicago; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Earl proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant with the United States Air Force during World War II serving as a radio operator in the South Pacific and for a short time in the Korean Conflict. He was a long time member of the BPOE and the VFW.
The family would like to thank Earl's loving neighbors for all their care. And a special thanks to Sheri Verburg who tenderly cared for Earl in his last months.
