Goreville- Douglas White, 72, of Goreville, formerly of Tinley Park, passed away at 4:00 AM, Sunday, October 23, 2016 at his home.
Douglas was born on November 4, 1943 in Monroe, Louisiana to Clifton and Mabel (Tucker) White. He married Judy Carlson on March 8, 1966 in Chicago. Together, they shared fifty wonderful years together. She survives of Goreville.
Doug served his country bravely while enlisted in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He spent time Germany and several other stations. Once honorably discharged, he returned home and worked many years for the Andrew Corporation on Orland Park, before retiring and moving to live on the Lake of Egypt in Goreville.
He was a member of the American Legion. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing from his dock on the lake and spending time with his beloved grandchildren.

Daughter- Teri Grabowski and husband Mark of Tampa, FL
Daughter- Jeri Haught and husband Lee of Goreville
Granddaughter- Allison Grabowski of Tampa, FL
Granddaughter- Amanda DelRicco of Goreville
Grandson- Joshua Mirin of Goreville
Great-grandchild- Christian Rios of Goreville
He was preceded in death by his parents and foster parents- Violet and Herbert Hultsch.
A private family visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Military rites will be performed at the funeral home by the Marion VFW and American Legion Posts with assistance from the Illinois National Guard.
