Dorothy Liscio, age 91, of Creal Springs, Illinois, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024 at her granddaughter's home in Johnston City, Illinois.

Dorothy was born December 01, 1932 in Manville, New Jersey, a daughter of Lazar and Magdalene (Blaschak) Padla. She married the love of her life, Carmine Michael Liscio on February 23, 1952 in Manville, NJ. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2021.

A devout Catholic, Dorothy found comfort in her faith and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. After her husbands passing, she embarked on a new chapter in life at Parkway Estates. Dorothy found a sense of community and belonging here, and formed meaningful friendships with her fellow residents and staff. She delighted in the various crafts and activities, such as Bingo, which brought her happiness and fulfillment. The family is very thankful that Dorothy found such a blessing in a home.

She is survived by one son- Michael Liscio of Adams, WI; four grandchildren-Dorothy and Kyle Grant of Johnston City, IL, Michael and Airica Liscio of Lilburn, GA, Deborah and Jonathan Lowe of Mansfield, TX, and Karon Curtis of Bushnell, IL; eleven great grandchildren; and two sisters- Sonja and Ann.

She is preceded in death by her husband- Carmine, one son- Joseph Liscio; her parents- Lazar and Magdalene (Blaschak) Padla; and five siblings.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Cana Cemetery in Goreville with Roy Hosmon officiating. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the cemetery. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with final arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Residential Hospice or Parkway Estates, to aid in their activity fund.
