Mrs. Dawes was a member of Marion Second Baptist Church. She was also a member of the VFW Post 1301 Ladies Auxiliary. She was an excellent seamstress, making wedding gowns for all three of her daughters as well as clothing for her grandchildren and she did alterations for many people over the years. She taught herself to upholster and owned and operated Dots Upholstery Shop in Goreville for many years. Her happiest moments were when she was surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They all have special memories of her laughter and the love they received from her. Holidays were always special with all the family coming together. At times there would be 40 or more people in her home during family get-togethers and that was when she was the happiest. The more family she had around her, the happier she was. She will never be forgotten by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, stepchildren, brother, sisters, nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to everyone who showed their love and support especially Brian and Jaime Albright for loving her like their own mother.
