Doris Dwyer

Marion Doris M. Dwyer, loving mother and grandmother, joined her Heavenly family at 9:05 PM on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at the age of 81; she was surrounded by those she loved. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, August 17, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Kenny Blumenstock officiating. Interment will follow in Oddfellows Cemetery in Marion. A time of gathering for family and friends will precede the funeral service starting at 9:00 AM until the service hour on Friday. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society and Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family carry out Doris’ final wishes. Doris was born in Marion to Ira & Faye (Boles) Gray on Monday, June 22, 1931. Ms. Dwyer is survived by her children, Mike & Lisa Sneed of Platte City, MO, Sue & Joe Frey, Ed & Yolanda Dwyer, Jim Dwyer and Kelly & John Baker whom all are of Marion; daughter-in-law, Laurie Dwyer of Marion; grandchildren, Mendy Sneed, Jerrod & Paula Sneed, Shana & Jason Krumwiede, Cortney Frey & fiancé’ Dustin Zeller, James Dwyer, Travis & Shelly Dwyer, Chelsy Dwyer & fiancé’ Jake Diefenbach, Casey Dwyer, Justin Dwyer & fiancé’ Maria Lara, Tyler Dwyer, Tyson Baker and Kolby Baker; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dale & Prescilla Gray of Johnston City and Kenneth Gray of Austin, TX. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Harold Gray and son, Jeffrey Dwyer. Doris worked as an accountant in the banking industry for several years. Most recently she had retired from the Bank of Marion. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. The ache from her passing is eased by knowing that she is no longer in pain.
