Donna Lynn Spees MARION-Donna Lynn Spees, 53, of Marion passed away at 1:52 PM, Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Herrin Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Monsignor Thomas Flach officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be private. Donna was born on February 27, 1957 in Pontiac, Michigan to Carl L. and JoAnn (Baker) Wilkins. She married Terry Spees on May 29, 1982 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion; together they shared 28 years of marriage. Survivors include her husband, Terry Spees of Marion; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Eric Burd of Herrin; her first grandchild, Ellanora Burd is on the way; son, Ryan Spees of Troy; mother, JoAnn McCabe; father and step-mother, Carl and Sondra Wilkins; brother and sister-in-law, Carl Eugene and Cathy Wilkins of the Lake of Egypt; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carla Jo and Jim Nilson and Tracey and Bill Glenn, step-brother, Kent Neal; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Cotton McCabe. Donna was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. She was employed at Bi-County Health Department for 26 years and she also worked with the developmentally disabled. She loved animals. Donna was a very caring and loving person and will be missed by all who knew her.
