Donavon Forquer MARION-Donavon Forquer, 85, of Marion passed away at 5:25 PM, Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the V.A. Nursing Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Marion with Reverend Richard Sullins officiating. The family has asked Family and friends to meet at the cemetery. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with the services. Military rites will be conducted by VFW Post 1301, American Legion Post 147 and the National Guard. Memorials may be made to the VFW Ritual Team; envelopes are available at the funeral home; or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Don was born on June 26, 1925 in Kewanee to Willard Ray and Lillian (Wahl) Forquer. He married Jessica (Gamlin) Ramey on September 20, 1989 in Marion; together they shared almost 21 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Jessica Forquer of Marion; his children, Donna Lynn Forquer, John Forquer, Ruth Forquer-Drysdale all of Herrin, Molly Forquer of Mulkeytown and Donavon Forquer, Jr. of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Leroy Palmer of Carterville. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Connie Marie Dagner. Don retired from the IBEW Local 702. He enjoyed woodworking. He served his country with the United States Army.
