Donald Wayne Ticer, 61, of Carterville, passed away at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at his home with his family by his side.
According to Donalds wishes his body will be cremated and a gathering for family and friends is set for Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 5:00 7:00 PM at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Donald Wayne was born on Tuesday, March 13, 1951 in Murphysboro, one of thirteen children, to William Robert & Alma (Mezo) Ticer. He married his Jr. High School sweetheart, Gloria Beasley, on Sunday, July 29, 1973; they were weeks shy of their 39th wedding anniversary.
Donnie is survived by his ever adoring wife, Gloria; children, Donna & Toby Shadowens of Marion and Vickie Richardson & (significant other) Andy Ogden; grandchildren, Brittany Yoast of Carterville, Courtney Shadowens of Marion and Travis Richardson of Herrin; brother, Billy & Margie Ticer of Johnston City; sisters, Ruth Dunning, Linda & John Gossman of DuQuoin, Tina & Bo Skiles of Johnston City, Anna Mae Dunning of Pinckneyville, Jeanie & Bill Hill of Johnston City, Debbie & Allen Stilley and Carolyn & Danny Loucks; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Ticer was preceded in death by his parents, William & Alma and brothers, Jerry, Jeff, Robert and Richard.
Donnie enjoyed the great outdoors; spending many a day hunting, fishing and camping. He loved spending time with friends and family, and his three dogs, which also feel his loss and are grieving in their own way. He will forever live on in the hearts of the people (and pets) he so dearly cared for.
