Creal Springs- Dessie Ludene Thompson, 83, the sweetest mother and wife, died at 7:29 PM, Friday, December 13, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion after a struggle with multiple health issues.  Dessie was born on January 26, 1930 in Creal Springs to Milas and Ruby (Harris) Anderson.  She married the love of her life, Harold F. Thompson on October 18, 1946 in Piggott, Arkansas.  They had a blessed life together for sixty seven years.  She was a wonderful wife, who shared in raising their six children.   He survives of Creal Springs. In addition to being a wonderful mother and wife, she worked as a waitress and also in  a nursing home and aluminum factory at different points of her life.  Dessie was an active member of Mt. Moriah General Baptist Church in Creal Springs where she was a deaconess. She will be remembered for the love she had for her family and God.  She had a very giving heart.  There is nothing like a mother’s love; our mother was a wonderful person who showed love to everyone.  She was caring and beautiful inside and out.  She loved her husband, children and grandchildren tremendously.  In her spare time she enjoyed canning and growing vegetables and growing beautiful roses in her flower garden.  She was a big fan of Atlanta Braves Baseball. Dissie is survived by her husband, Harold; sons, Doug Thompson and wife Linda of Clanton, AL and Lee Dempsey of Meridian, MS; three daughters’ Janet Campbell and husband Ron of Creal Springs; Margie Fletcher and husband Gary of Galatia, Gwenda Blackwell and husband Steve of Creal Springs, sixteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Anderson of Lexington, TN and one sister, Lena Hollock of Ashville, AL, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews and a number of other relatives and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, James Ernest Thompson and four brothers- James, Gerald, Alfred “Cotton”’ and William “Bud” Anderson. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion.  Rev. Larry Adams will officiate.  Burial will follow at Creal Springs Cemetery in Creal Springs.  Visitation will be from 5-8:00 PM, Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion.
