Dennis Sherman Newbold Marion- 8220;Dennis Sherman Newbold, 91, of Marion passed away at 6:00 PM, Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Raymond Conley officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Simmons Cemetery, east of Creal Springs. Mr. Newbold was born February 4, 1917 in Johnson County, Illinois to Anderson and Bell (Tanner) Newbold. He married Betty June Williams on October 12, 1966 in Marion. She survives. Survivors include his wife Betty of Creal Springs; son and daughter-in-law Dennis Sherman and Helen Newbold Jr. of Florida; grandchild Brent Jason and wife Laura Newbold; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers; and sisters. Mr. Newbold worked at Inland Steel for 31 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He loved his family and was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by all.
