Delos L. “Dip” Motsinger
CREAL SPRINGS-Delos L. “Dip” Motsinger, 85, of Creal Springs passed away at 9:13 PM, Saturday, September 8, 2007 at Herrin Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Creal Springs with Reverend Allan Summers officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Burial will be at Creal Springs Cemetery. Mr. Motsinger was born on June 15, 1922 in Williamson County, Illinois to Hobert and Essie (Parks) Motsinger.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Buddy and Peggy Motsinger of Creal Springs; grandchildren, Bryan and Trish Motsinger, Dustin and Mary Motsinger and Kaelynne Motsinger; and great grandchild, Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Annie Motsinger; and brother, Bradley Motsinger.
Mr. Motsinger was a very active member of the First Baptist Church in Creal Springs.
He led a very busy and active life, he was formerly the head mechanic for Unit 2 School System, formerly a movie projectionist at area movie theatres, formerly owned the 76 Gas Station in Creal Springs, and currently and for the past 65 years he was a school bus driver, especially a driver for special events. He was known as the Creal Springs “Handyman”, had a special seat at all Crab Orchard Basketball games, a member of the Creal Springs Park Board, worked maintenance at the city park, loved church singings and on August 5, 2005 he was WSIL TV3 “Unsung Hero”.
