Delores Deaton

Herrin-Delores Deaton, 75, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Home. Delores was born in June 25, 1940 in Marion to Ida Boester. Delores retired from the VA Hospital.  She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion.  Delores loved to dance and live life. Survivors include: Children: Beth and Tom Murphy of Creal Springs Pamela and Roy Pierce of Marion Grandchildren: Samantha Clayton Pamela Craig James Murphy and Ina Rice Rachel Rock Great grandchildren: Daniel Logan Holbrook Jamie Murphy Samantha Wade Jeffrey Rock Thomas Rock Carly Rock Dylan Rock Gage Rice Step sons: Steven Deaton Jeff Deaton Longtime friend and father of Steven and Jeff, Bill Deaton Uncles: John Boester Rudolph and Roma Boester Aunt-Erma Boester Several cousins She was preceded in death by her mother and first husband, Bill Clayton. The family would like to thank the staff of Shawnee Christian Nursing Home and Joan Comkavich and Vicki Wallace who was very near and dear to her heart and like daughters to her. A memorial graveside service will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 11am at Davis Prairie Cemetery with Rev. Bob McKnight officiating.  Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
