Delmar Eugene “Gene” Stilley Vienna-Delmar Eugene “Gene’ Stilley, 80, of Vienna passed away at 8:15 PM, Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at his home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, February 1, 2009 at the Blue Funeral Home in Goreville with Reverend R. G. Null and Jerry Lingle officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the time of the services on Sunday, February 1, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Busby Cemetery in Goreville. Mr. Stilley was born on August 28, 1928 to Bluford and Myrtle (Howard) Stilley. Survivors include his long time friend Vicki Handley; children, Rick Stilley, Steve Stilley, and Debbie Hardy; sister, Maxine Case; several cousins; great-niece, Ambria Parr who brought a lot of joy the last few months of his life; and music partner, Sue Dunn. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Gilbert Lee Stilley; and sister Carolyn Satterberg. Mr. Stilley was a counselor to people with addictions to alcohol and drugs. He served his country with the United States Army. He loved to sing, play guitar, and write songs.
