Della Jane Burklow

Della Jane Burklow, 78, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at The Anchor in Marion.

Della was born on November 17, 1942 in Marion to Lindolph Paul and Hilda Louise (Gower) Borum.  She married Lester Lee Burklow on August 27, 1960 in Jonesboro.

Della was a caring person who had a servant’s heart and enjoyed taking care of others, especially her grandchildren.  She was a long-time member of Victory Baptist Church in Carterville.  Della enjoyed listening to gospel music, gardening, tending to her flowers and loved spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Donald Borum.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 11am at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Tony Edmunds and Rev. Glenn Aulgur officiating.  Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Thursday from 5pm-8pm at the funeral and again on Friday from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home.

Due to health concerns related to the COVID-19 virus, and the executive order by the Governor of Illinois, those attending the visitation and the funeral service are asked to follow social distancing guidelines and wear a face mask.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the Disabled Veterans and will be accepted at the funeral home.
