Delbert Black

Goreville-Delbert Wayne Black, 86, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at his home. Delbert was born on September 13, 1928 in Johnson County to Aaron and Johnnie (Thomas) Black. He met Helen Robertson in August 1994 and they later married. She survives of Goreville. Delbert loved to ride horses. He knew every pig path and road through the Shawnee Forest. Delbert enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include: Wife-Helen Black of Goreville Son-Roger Black and wife Rose of Goreville Step daughters-Carla Ernfelt of Marion, Donna Jean Towle and husband David of Alabama and Cathy Ernfelt of Phoenix, AZ Granddaughter-Dana Black and fiancé Coy Girtman of Goreville Step grandchildren-Casey Ernfelt, Bailey Ernfelt, Peyton Eberhardt, Annette Brogra and Justin Towle Great grandchildren-Jackson Street and Blake Street Brother-Elbert Lee “Tom” Black and wife Erma of Anna Step niece-Bonnie Harris and husband Bill of Marion Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 12pm at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville with Rev. Robert Schierbaum officiating. Burial will follow at Busby Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Saturday from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home/ PO Box 411/ Marion, IL 62959.
