Deborah Granzow
MARION-Deborah Granzow, 81, of Marion formerly of Hamilton, Alabama passed away at 11:30 AM, Saturday, July 10, 2010 at her daughters home near Marion.
Fulfilling her wishes her remains were cremated. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorial services will be scheduled for a later date in Alabama and Wisconsin. Memorials may be made to the Hamilton United Methodist Church, 130 Military St. N., Hamilton, AL 35570.
Deborah was born near Withee, Wisconsin on June 21, 1929, the daughter of the late Chris and Nora (smith) Christophersen.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Betsy of Buffalo, Minnesota; son, Brian of Big Lake, Minnesota; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Lee Doughty of Marion; six grandchildren, Nate and Traci Granzow, Kevin Granzow, Andrea and Buddy Sellars; Laura and Taylor Reich, Russell and Nicole Doughty and Alex Doughty; two great grandchildren, Samuel and Stephen Sellars; brothers and sisters-in-law, Scott and Carol Christophersen, Gay and Leona Christophersen, and Allen and Virginia Christophersen; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marlys and Glen Barcus; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Myron and Linda Granzow; and many wonderful friends and neighbors in Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arleigh Granzow; and brother Jerry Christophersen.
Deborah graduated from Withee High School in Withee, Wisconsin. In 1952 she met and married Arleigh Granzow and lived in Minneapolis. In 1970 the family moved to Hamilton, Alabama. Arleigh and Debbie were married for over 56 years.
She loved being with family and friends. She was a good bowler, loved to golf and garden. The family loved to go camping. They were able to see many wonderful sites all over the U.S. she and Arleigh were members of the Hamilton United Methodist Church in Alabama.
