Dawayne Ray Ellis Johnston City-Dawayne Ray Ellis, 44, of Johnston City passed away at 6:28 AM, Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Herrin Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, April 28, 2009 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Pastor Eugene Sanders officiating. Visitation will be form 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, April 27, 2009 at the funeral home. Mr. Ellis was born August 4, 1964, in Hammond, Indiana to Thomas and Jackie (Westcott) Ellis. He married the love of his life Judy Lynn Heltsley on July 4, 1998; together they shared 10 years of marriage. She survives of Johnston City. He is survived by wife, Judy; children, Coy Edward & Amanda Ellis of Buckner, Clint & Jamie Ellis of Johnston City, DaWayne Ellis of West Frankfort, and Stephanie Ellis of Johnston City; grandchildren, Makayla Ellis, Lilly Ellis, and Yzabelle Ellis; father & step-mother, Thomas and Ethel Ellis of Royalton; mother, Jackie Ellis of Orient; brothers, Darrel Ellis of Benton, Dennis & Miranda Ellis of Zeigler, Darren Ellis of Benton, David Ellis of Benton, Dustin & Lonnie Ellis of West Frankfort; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Larry G. Heltsley; mother-in-law, Shirley Ann Heltsley; and grandparents. Mr. Ellis loved spending time with his family, joking and kidding around. He also loved to ride motorcycles and to play ball.
