David L. “Taco” Newton BUNCOMBE-David L. “Taco” Newton, 53, of Buncombe passed away at 9:21 PM, Saturday, July 14, 2007 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville with Reverend R. G. Null officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, July 16, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Cana Cemetery in Goreville. Mr. Newton was born March 2, 1954 in Marion to Joe and Lillian (Whitney) Newton. He married Debbie Nesmith on March 3, 1972; together they shared 35 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Debbie of Buncombe; daughter, Johanna Lynn Smith of Buncombe; daughter and son-in-law, Jenifer and Mike Jacobs of Marion; grandchildren, Patricia Smith, Gordon Smith, Douglas Jacobs and Gracie Jacobs; brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry L. and Mary Godbey, Rick and Loudine Newton all of Goreville; sister, Shannon L. Byrd of Goreville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Newton enjoyed deer hunting and riding motorcycles. But most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
