David Dwain Woolard

David D. Woolard MARION–David Dwain Woolard, 64, of Marion passed away at 12:40 AM, Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. A Graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM Monday, March 2, 2009 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with the arrangements. Military Rites will be preformed at the cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Marion VFW and American Legion Ritual Team; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mr. Woolard was born on December 4, 1944 in Eldorado to Lloyd and Hazel (Whyte) Woolard. He married Mary Ann Heizer on October 6, 2007 in Carterville, she survives. Survivors include his wife Mary Ann of Marion; brother Harold & Susan Woolard of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; sister Phyllis Szymanski of Plainfield, Illinois; step-daughters, Debra & Chris Vincent of Joliet, and Mary Ellen & Dennis Dragon of Chicago; step-son, Wayne Pugh of Schamburg, Illinois; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother James Woolard; and sister Juanita Luna. Mr. Woolard served and retired from the United States Air Force. He was a pilot and loved to fly.
