David Bruce Nevious

January 7, 1963 — July 1, 2013

Marion-David Bruce Nevious died quietly from liver cancer on July 1, 2013. He was born to Lamon Bruce Nevious and Denise Jane (Hutson) Nevious on January 7, 1963 in Kankakee, Illinois. As a young child he loved to spend the summers with his Grandfather Hutson. Later the family moved next door to his grandparents, which gave him more opportunity to spend time with his grandfather learning to drive the tractors and help on the farm. David loved to fish, watch Nascar and ride any motorized vehicle that would go fast.  He especially loved to ride dirtbikes, starting at a young age trying daredevil stunts. He had no fear when on two wheels. He was an accomplished and talented sketch artist and enjoyed teaching his children to draw. David loved and was very proud of his two children Lindsey Sheigh (Marks) Shepherd and Garrett David Nevious both of Southern Illinois. He enjoyed taking them hiking and swimming at Bell Smith Springs when they were young. David was always an easy going guy who loved to tell a good joke.  He worked many years as an over the road trucker and also a talented crane operator hanging trusses. He is preceded in death by his mother, Denise Jane Nevious; Grandparents, Clarence and Mary Hutson and Uncle, Clarence Roger Hutson. David is survived by his father; his children; sister, Peggy and Brad Boyd; nieces, Austin Crabb, Renee Boyd; nephew, Daniel Boyd; Grandmother, Mahala Elizabeth Nevious and many cousins, aunts and uncles. He is gone too soon and will be missed. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 2 pm at Springhill Cemetery, Southeast of Marion. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting with arrangements.
