JOHNSTON CITY -- Darrell Wayne Phillips, 56, formerly of Marion, passed away at 2:10 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at his residence.
Darrell was born to Dean and Wilma (Edwards) Phillips on July 6, 1956.
He married Lisa Coulson on Jan. 11, 1991. They recently celebrated their 22nd anniversary.
He was a real estate agent and worked for Heartland Realty and Rentals in Marion.
Darrell loved working (and playing) at the family farm with his brothers and nephews, spending time with the grandkids and spending time with his beloved dog, Harley Jack.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa, of Johnston City; stepdaughter, Kristy Neville and husband, Jon, of Johnston City; stepson, Ryan Avery of Johnston City; stepgrandchildren, Zachary, Grace, Mason and Kayden; brother, Doug and Penny Phillips of Marion; nephews, Ryan and Logan Phillips; sister-in-law, Cindy Phillips of Goreville; niece Trista Phillips; sister Cindy Phillips of Woodlawn; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Jean Coulson; sister-in-law, Debbie and Estel Hoffard; brother-in-law, Randy Coulson; brother-in-law, David Coulson; and nieces and nephews, Derek Coulson, Jason (Jackie) Hoffard and Tiffany (Kyle) Hammel.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Randall Phillips; and niece, Sarah Phillips.
Services for Darrell will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, in Blue Funeral Home in Marion with the Rev. Tim Ozment officiating. Visita-tion will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to TIP Hospice. Envelopes will be available during services or may be sent to the funeral home.
