Darrel Rex Boaz MARION-Darrel Rex Boaz, 54, of Marion passed away at 6:45 PM, Monday, January 18, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Kevin McNeely officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Rex was born May 30, 1955 in Tokyo, Japan to Milton and Mary Imogene (Winchester) Boaz. He married Connie Diane Jordan; she preceded him in death on May 11, 2008. Survivors include sons, Jeremy Boaz and Jason Boaz; stepchildren, Johnny Dale and Linda Swan and Charlotte Dawn and Stephen Breese; step-grandchildren, Sara Nadine James, Michael Ray James, Devin Wade James, Dalton Jordan Swan and Marissa Lynn Swan; his father, Milton Boaz; sisters, Barbara Hogg, Jayne Boaz and Loretta Roark; brothers, Steve Boaz, Jeff Boaz and Jerry Borum; and mother-in-law, Mary Jordan. He was preceded in death by his wife; mother, Imogene Borum; step-father, Vernell Lee Borum; step-mother, Erna Boaz; sister, Debra Rice; and brother-in-law, Kenny Jordan. Rex retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital after many years of service. He served his country with the United States Army from 1972 to 1980.
