Danny Joe Avery

Goreville-Danny Joe Avery, 68, passed away at 6:30pm on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Danny was born on September 12, 1944 in Johnson County to John and Mildred (Smith) Avery.  He married Debbie Farris on April 24, 2000, she survives of Goreville. Danny was a mail carrier for many years.  He enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, working on small equipment and loved spending time with his family. He was a mason and a member of the VFW. Survivors Include: Wife-Debbie Farris Children: Hope Amber Avery of Anna Christie Johnson of Goreville Shawn Mitchell and Jamie Williams of Goreville Natasha Avery of Herrin Stepson-Daniel Perry Grandchildren: Angel Avery Dustin Avery Megan Johnson Eli Johnson Levi Mitchell Great-grandchild-Makiya Rodgers Brother-Richard and Hannelore Avery Sisters: Rosalie and John Hand Carmen Phillips Best Friend-Dennis Ames He was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Jim Avery and sons; Joe Michael Avery and John Jason Avery. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, August 23, 2013 at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville with the Rev. Jerry Huckleberry officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, August 23, 2013 from 5:00pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
