Daniel Ted "Dog" Goins

Goreville-Daniel Ted “Dog” Goins, 58, passed away at 11:55am on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Herrin Hospital. Daniel was born on October 27, 1956 in Marion to Homer Leo and Cleta Loretta (Welch) Goins. He married Rebecca Hanks on August 3, 1979 in Marion. She survives of Goreville. Daniel was a truck driver and drove both locally and on the road. He enjoyed family get togethers and loved spending time with family and friends. Daniel loved all his grandchildren very much. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include: Wife-Rebecca Goins of Goreville Children: Danny and Nina Goins of Goreville Robert Goins and fiancé Casey Mitchell of Mulkeytown Grandchildren: Tyler Green Kandice Green-Goins Kyle Goins Brayden Goins Mason Mitchell Laken Mitchell Brother-Greg and Lynn Goins of Marion He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Susan Ann Goins; two great grandsons; sister, Christina Goins; maternal grandparents, Elige and Nettie Welch; paternal grandparents, Theodore and Fannie Goins and ; his dog “Lexi” Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 11am at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Donnie Colson officiating. Burial will follow at Cypress Fraternal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Diabetes Association and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home/ 1704 N. Court St/ Marion, IL 62959.
