Dan Stone

West Frankfort-Dan L. Stone, 65, passed away on Thursday, June 08, 2017 at his home. Dan was born on October 13, 1951 in Marion to Leslie and Edna (Smith) Stone. He married Jacqueline Hoeg on June 30, 1989 in Paducah. Dan served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a coal miner for 12 years at Old Ben 26.  Dan was a training specialist for the H-Group and a member of the NRA. Survivors include: Wife-Jackie Stone of West Frankfort Children: Crystal and Homer Coleman of Springfield Daniel Stone of Reno, NV Adam and Rhonda Stone of Chiloquin, OR Branden and Sheila Stone of Marion Tracy and David Matson of Roscoe Olga and David Gelander of Roscoe Nine grandchildren Two great grandchildren Siblings: Gene and Donna Stone of Creal Springs Dorothy Odum of Marion Stoney and Pam Stone of Rockford He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Brenda Wedding and brother, Vic Stone A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 1pm at Lone Oak Baptist Church in Energy with Rev. David Dyer officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 12pm until the time of service at the church.  Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
