Clifford Rix

MARION- Clifford Dean Rix, 75, of Marion passed away at 3:30 AM, Saturday, July 10, 2004 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Joey Brent officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery, Marion. Memorials may be made to VNA TIP Hospice, envelopes are available at the funeral home, or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mr. Rix was born on September 19, 1928 in Marion, Illinois to William Earl and Anna Mary (Kobler) Rix. He married Roberta Jean Allen on September 28, 1947 in Marion. He was the beloved husband of his surviving wife, Roberta; the cherished father of his five children, Michael and Julie Rix, Deborah Forester, Rhoda and David Powers, and Lunda and Jeff Pritchett all of Houston, Texas and Dana and Mike Crouse of Carbondale; the grandfather of Erika Rix, Michelle and Isaac Almanza, Amanda Rix, Darin and Sherry Watson, Nathan Forester, Kristin Forester, Gretchen Cooksey, Hillary Burke, Tyler Pritchett, Lindsey Pritchett, Max Crouse, Michael Ryan Crouse; great grandfather of Hailey Rix, Gabriel Almanza, Ean Almanza, Reagan Watson and Noah Watson; and the brother of Earline Chamness of Marion, Elaine Cawvey of Collinsville, J.W. Rix of Marion and Charolette and Leonard Russell of Marion. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gary Rix. He was a retired building contractor and owner of Rix Construction. He was a member of the Third Baptist Church in Marion since 1951. We will hold our memories of our precious father within our hearts throughout each day, Michael, Deborah, Rhoda, Lunda and Dana.
