Claude K. White MARION–Claude K. White, 91, of Marion passed away at 5:20 PM, Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, September 28, 2008, at the Second Baptist Church in Marion with Dr. Bob Wagner and Dr. Judith Ridlen officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service on Sunday at the church. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is in charge of the arrangements. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church or the donor's choice; envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the church or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mr. White was born August 23, 1917 in Williamson County, Illinois to Robert F. and Myrl (Carter) White. He married Frieda Ridlen on January 17, 1942 in Jackson, Missouri; together they shared 66 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Frieda White of Marion; son, Jerry White of Marion; son and daughter-in-law, Gail and Linda White of Carbondale; grandson and wife, Jeffrey and Toni Ledbetter; great grandson, Stephen Michael Ledbetter; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Esther White of Marion; sister-in-law, Imogene White of Marion; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Vernell White. Mr. White was a longtime active member of Second Baptist Church in Marion, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He loved his church dearly. He formerly owned and operated Claude White Construction Company. He was a hardworking man, he enjoyed the land and was a longtime farmer.
