Charles Stricker

April 28, 1930 — March 26, 2014

Marion-Charles Stricker, 83, passed away at 9:25pm on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. Charles was born on April 28, 1930 in East Cairo, IL to Albert and Pauline (Beauregard) Stricker. He married Dessie Walker on September 7, 1951. She preceded him in death on September 9, 2002. Charles later married Patricia Grau and she also preceded him in death. Charles was the longtime owner of Craftsman Printing. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He will be missed by all. Survivors include: Son-Dan Stricker and wife Renee of West Frankfort Daughter-Teresa Markem and husband Jerry of Herrin Grandchildren: Danielle Stricker Joshua Stricker Jason Kern Sisters: Alberta Duchek and husband Tom Agnes Goddard and husband Berv Judy Taylor and husband Gary Brother-Jim Stricker and wife Melba He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dessie and wife, Patricia. A funeral mass will be held at 10am on Monday, March 31, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Marion with Monsignor Thomas Flach officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 5pm-7pm at Blue Funeral Home in Marion.
