Charles Douglas Girtman MARION-Charles Douglas Girtman, 54, of Marion formerly of Goreville passed away at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 9, 2007 at his residence. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 PM, Monday, February 12, 2007 at Cana Cemetery in Goreville with Reverend Don Colson officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 AM, Monday, February 12, 2007 at the Blue Funeral Home in Goreville. Military rites will be held at the cemetery by Marion VFW Post 1301 and American Legion Post 147 conducting the services. Mr. Girtman was born on June 4, 1952 in Goreville, Illinois to Charles Daniel and Thelma Margaret (Jackson) Girtman. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Twyla and Jason Saylor of Johnston City; step-daughter and son-in-law, Tawny A. and Matt Odum of Marion; grandchildren, Gage Saylor; step-grandchildren, Drew and Peyton Odum; sisters and brothers-in-law, Beverly and Al O’Connor of Vincennes, Indiana, Charlene and Frank McGlone of Vienna, Mae and Larry Yarbor of Goreville, Ellen Girtman of Marion, Darlene and David McCourt of Goreville, Marcia and Bob Bartlett of Marion and Gwen Jones of Harrisburg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis Girtman of Marion, Daniel and Robin Girtman of Marion and Marshall and Linda Girtman of Logan; aunt, Tennie Ann Girtman of Goreville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Girtman did handyman work. He loved the outdoors, loved to fish and work on old cars.
