Charles "Chuck" Tuggle

Mt. Vernon-Charles “Chuck” Tuggle, formerly of Goreville, 91, passed away at 7:30 am on July 12, 2013 at Mt. Vernon Health Care. Charles was born September 18, 1921 in Carmi to Lee Vincent and Tamsey (Buttry) Tuggle.  He married Brenda Murphy on October 5, 1991. She survives of Dix. Together they shared 21 wonderful years of marriage. Mr. Tuggle was a retired salesman.  He was a devoted Christian and an Army WWII Veteran. Survivors include: Wife-Brenda Tuggle of Dix Step daughter-Leslie and Eric Williams of Texico, Illinois Step son- William J. Staley of Texico, Illinois Step son-James S. Reeves of Carbondale Sister-Katherine and Ted Mitchell of McLeansboro 12 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren Several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Tuggle; daughter, Judy Tuggle; six brothers, Vilo Tuggle, Monroe Tuggle, Joe Tuggle, Nick Tuggle, George Tuggle and Chalen Tuggle. Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 15, at 1:00 pm at Herrin City Cemetery with the Rev. Eric Williams officiating. Military rites will be performed. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is handling arrangements. Memorials may be made to TIP Hospice of Centralia and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home/ PO Box 411/ Marion, IL  62959
