Goreville—Chad Wayne Meyers, 30, of Goreville passed away during a coal mining accident on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 4:05 A.M. Funeral services for Chad will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville with Rev. Jay Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in Cana Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 20, 2012. Blue Funeral Home in Goreville is assisting the family with arrangements. Chad was born on July 26, 1982 in Carbondale to Kenneth Meyers and Lisa Copeland. He is survived by his; Father—Kenneth & Shaunetta Meyers of Goreville Mother—Lisa & James Copeland of Metropolis Brother—Christopher Meyers of Metropolis Sister—Kristina Meyers of Carterville Brother—Caleb & Andrea Meyers of Bloomsburg, PA Maternal Grandmother—Verla Harner of Vienna Step Siblings—Cody & Cegan Stephenson of Marion Ellen Lee of Graves County, KY James Copeland Girlfriend—Janelle Craig & her son Darren Layne of Goreville Nephews—Quentin & Elijah Nieces—Olivia & Nelyah Several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins Chad was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dewey & Agnes Meyers; Paternal Uncle Kevin “Tubo” Meyers Chad’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, golfing, and sports. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed cooking and grilling. Chad also loved to farm. Chad was a coal miner at Willow Lake in Saline County.
