Carolyn R. Tanner MARION-Carolyn R. Tanner, 63, of Marion passed away at 6:35 AM, Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday, December 23, 2006 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Ed Martin officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, December 22, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will be at New Salem Cemetery, east of Marion. Memorials may be made to the Whiteash Community Church Missions c/o Acuna, Mexico; envelopes will be available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mrs. Tanner was born on April 12, 1943 in Williamson County, Illinois to Hartsie and Vivian (Pritchett) Bennett. She married Gary Tanner in August of 1961; he preceded her in death on February 13, 2003. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Ron Kissel of Carbondale, Tracy and Tony Maze of Marion and Jennifer Ward of Marion; son, Gary W. Tanner of Marion; grandchildren, Kelly, Lacy and Justin Maze, Mike, Ashley and Brandi Ward, Dylan Daughenbaugh, Jordan Paul Tanner, Emily Kissel and Cameron Kissel; great grandchildren, Alee Hunter Pierce and Isaac Kissel; brother and sister-in-law, Deon and Norma Bennett; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Cindy Tanner; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Doris and Ed Martin; sister-in-law, Marilyn Bennett; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother, Gary Bennett; and sister, Delores James. Mrs. Tanner was a member of Whiteash Community Church. She was a caregiver for the elderly.
