MARION - Carolyn S. Johnson, 69, passed away at 6:45 p.m. peacefully at her home Monday, April 8, 2013, with her family by her side.
Services for Carolyn will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 12, at Blue Funeral Home in Marion, with Pastors Robbie Smith and Matt Troxel officiating. Interment will be at Cana Cemetery in Goreville. A time of gathering for family and friends will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at the funeral home in Marion.
Carolyn was born to James Samuel and Ruby Lenora (Short) Baker Sunday, Jan. 30, 1944, in Creal Springs.
She married Ronald Gene Johnson on Saturday, Dec. 15, 1962, in Waukegan. He preceded her in death after 22 years of marriage.
She is survived by her children, Terry and Michelle Johnson, Teresa and Lonnie King and Eric and Kristina Johnson, all of Marion; grandchildren, Tyler and Sarah Johnson, Chris Johnson and fiancée, Kylee Bobo, Chelsey and Adam Napier, Kyle Johnson, Austin Johnson and Macey Johnson; great-grandchildren, Peyton Napier and Nate Baker; and siblings, Sam Baker, Ronnie and Norma Baker, Jack Baker, Clarice Killman and Opal Hill.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ruby; husband, Ronald; siblings, Bob Baker, Agatha Tanner and infant sister, Rosetta Jane Baker.
She attended Bethel Missionary Baptist Church for many years.
She loved flowers and their intoxicating aroma. Most notably she loved her family and spending as much precious time as possible with them.
