ANNA - Carlos N. Wright, 87, passed away at 4:35 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, in
St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, with family by his side.
Services for Mr. Wright will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, in Blue Funeral Home in Marion, with the Revs. Scott Cody and R.W. McAllister officiating. Entombment will be in Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy. A time of gathering for family and friends will precede the funeral service from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the
family with arrangements.
Carlos was born to Douglas and Edith (Blades) Wright Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1926, in Simpson. He had recently celebrated his 87th birthday.
He married Rosella Farmer Tuesday, July 23, 1946. She preceded him in death Sunday, Nov. 25, after 66 years of marriage.
Mr. Wright is survived by his children, Beverly Ann and Steve Smith of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Jesse Wright, Gwen and Arthur Colboth, Eddie Wright and Steven Wright, all of Anna; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and brothers, Clifford Wright and Ivis Wright, both of Anna.
Carlos was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Edith; wife, Rosella; daughter, Carlene Wright; siblings, Douglas Wright, Gerald Wright, Vanis Wright, Bobby Wright and Alice Wright.
Mr. Wright was a World War II veteran having served his nation proudly in the U.S. Army.
He was a man of great integrity and known to be an extremely hard worker, always providing for his family.
Carlos was a member of the Herrin Church of Christ. In his later years he attended the Anna Church of Christ.
