Carl Gene Taterbug” Ramey MARION-Carl Gene “Taterbug” Ramey, 62, of Marion passed away at 5:35 PM, Saturday, November 11, 2006 at the VA Medical Center in Marion. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday November 14, 2006 at Blue Funeral Home, Marion with Reverend Don Colson officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Marion. Military rites will be held at the cemetery by Marion VFW Post 1301 and American Legion Post 147. Mr. Ramey was born on March 12, 1944 in Marion, Illinois to Boyd and Ida Mae (O’Neal) Ramey. Survivors include his son, Brett Ramey of Herrin; and grandchildren, Brittany Ramey, Christopher Ramey, Taylor Dolderer, Alyssa Atwood and Christian Ramey. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Lee Ramey. Mr. Ramey served in the United States Army Reserve during the Vietnam War. He loved to go fishing, camping and boating and he was a NASCAR Fan.
