GOREVILLE-Carl Fredrick Turner, 75, of Goreville passed away at 10:07 PM, Monday, May 2, 2004 at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 6, 2004 at the Goreville United Methodist Church with Reverend Jeff Bealmear and Reverend Tex Perry officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at the Blue Funeral Home, Goreville. Burial will be in Busby Cemetery, Goreville. Military rites will be held at the cemetery by VFW Post #1301 and American Legion Post #147. Memorials may be made to the Goreville United Methodist Church; envelopes will be available at the funeral home or may be sent co Blue Funeral Home PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mr. Turner was born on March 20, 1929 in Villa Ridge, Illinois to Fred and Cecila (Bergfeld) Turner. He married Michelle Hudson on September 19, 1998 in Paducah, Kentucky and she survives. Other survivors include his daughter, Cheryl Ytzen of Evansville, Indiana; grandchildren, Sara and Cory; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Marilyn Turner of Olmstead; sisters, Della Johnson of Villa Ridge and Ella Ervin of New Port Ritchey, Florida; aunt, Faymel Bergfeld of Aurora; and several nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Freda; two brothers-in-law, Sam Johnson and William Ervin. He was a member of the Goreville United Methodist Church. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Marion VFW Post #1301 and the Olive Branch Masonic Lodge #47.
