Brian Glenn Baker
MARION-Brian Glenn Baker, 50, of Wichita, Kansas formerly of Marion passed away at 4:20 PM, Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 28, 2008 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Bob Dickerson officiating. Military rites will be held at the funeral home by VFW Post 1301, American Legion Post 147 and the National Guard. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy next to his grandparents Bill and Mary Dungey.
Brian was born on October 16, 1957 in Pasedena, California to Phil and Deanna (Dungey) Baker.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Baker of Wichita, Kansas; children, Ronal Poelstra and Trina Long; five grandchildren, Michael, Brooke, Andrea, Shelby and Ray; his parents, Phil and Deanna Baker of St. Charles, Missouri; and brothers, Kevin Baker and Rick Baker.
He was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Bill Baker; and his grandparents, Bill and Mary Dungey.
Brian was a 1975 graduate from St. Charles High School. He immediately went to serve our country in the United States Navy for 20 years as a Chief Petty Officer retiring in Wichita, Kansas. During his time in the Navy he was a recruiter in Marion for a few years. He was a member of Marion First Baptist Church and Marion Masonic Lodge 89 AF & AM.
