MARION -- Brett Tyler Harkrider, 22, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013.
Brett was born Nov. 29, 1991, in Herrin, the son of Chasity Harkrider and Charles Burnett Jr.
He was employed by Subway restaurant.
Brett loved the outdoors, skateboarding and listening to music. He also enjoyed drawing, reading and writing and was very environ-mentally friendly. Brett will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
Survivors include his mother, Chasity Harkrider of Marion; father, Charles Burnett Jr. of Marion; maternal grandmother, Lee Harkrider of Herrin; paternal grandmother, Rita Norris of Marion; brother, Joseph Harkrider of Herrin; sister, Katlin Harkrider of Herrin; aunt, Melissa Harkrider of Marion; three cousins, Saxton and Seth Kienath and Maleah Killian; and best friend, Eric Samples of Marion.
Brett was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Randy Harkrider; and his paternal grandfather, Charles Burnett Sr.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, in Blue Funeral Home in Marion with the Rev. John Burnett officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Blue Funeral Home in Marion.
