Bombi Lee Darnell BENTON-Bombi Lee Darnell, 57, of Benton passed away at 11:10 AM, Sunday, August 2, 2009 at Herrin Hospital. With respect with Bombi’s own personal wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family. Bombi was born July 17, 1952 in Henderson, Kentucky to Harmon and Betty June (Straker) Darnell. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Carla Darnell of Marissa; grandchildren, Skylr and Trenton; his mother, Betty June Cowles of Marion; aunts, uncles and cousins; and his faithful companion, his dog, “Lizzie”. He was preceded in death by his father. Bombi was a member of Fires of Revival Church in Benton. He worked as a coal miner. He enjoyed music.
