Bobby Joe McRoy MARION-Bobby Joe McRoy, 46, of Marion passed away at 7:30 PM, Friday, June 30, 2006 at Red Bud Hospital in Red Bud, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 3, 2006 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday, July 2, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Mr. McRoy was born on March 26, 1960 in Marion, Illinois to Peter M. and Jeanette (Norris) McRoy. He married Laura Legg; she preceded him in death on June 1, 2000. Survivors include his parents, Peter and Jeanette McRoy of Marion; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bruce McRoy, Gregory Lynn and Beverly McRoy and David McRoy all of Marion; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by wife. Mr. McRoy attended the “Church on the Way” in Marion. He was employed by the Marion Daily Republican and the Southern Illinoisan Newspaper.
