Deon Swann Marion- Billy Deon Swann, 60, of Marion, passed away at 10:55 AM on Friday, January 21, 2011 at his residence. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion, IL with Reverend Tim Zuck officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 6:00 PM Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the donor’s choice. Envelopes will be available at the service or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, P.O. Box 411, Marion, IL, 62959. Deon was born on November 24, 1950, in Decatur, IL to Bill & Verneda (Smith) Swann. Survivors include brother, Mike Swann of Marion; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon & Les Sturgill of Thompsonville; brother and sister-in-law, Charles & Phyllis Swann of West Frankfort; and several nieces & nephews; and good friend and caretaker Carol Murphy. Deon was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Carole Swann. Deon owned Swann Plumbing and Heating. He was a mentor to many young men from the area and helped them to grow-up. He liked putting together models and camping.
