Billie Buckner

Marion-Billie Wayne Buckner, 84, passed away at 8:48 pm on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at the VA Medical Center. Billie was born on June 20, 1929 to Everett Ray Buckner and Lillie Mae (Rush) Risner.  He was raised by his mother and step father, Zanna Risner. Billie was a member of the Marion Elks and DAV. Survivors include: his sister, Phyllis Young; nieces, Christina Keck, Mary Lee Pode and Gwen Buckner; and nephews, Kenneth Barker, Ray Buckner, Glen Buckner, John Buckner and Kirk Buckner. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Vernon Buckner, Gene Buckner and Clifton Buckner. Family and friends are asked to gather at Rose Hill Cemetery on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 5 pm Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is handling arrangements.
