Betty M. Johns CREAL SPRINGS-Betty M. Johns, 82 of Creal Springs, passed away at 2:10 AM, Monday, March 15, 2010 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 18, 2010 at the Creal Springs First Baptist Church with Reverend Alan Summers officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of the service on Thursday at the church. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with the arrangements. Burial will be at Simmons Cemetery in Creal Springs. Memorials may be made to Creal Springs First Baptist Church; envelopes are available at the funeral home and the church or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Betty was born August 1, 1927 in Creal Springs to Laurel and Katie (Tanner) Segers. She married Vernie L. Johns on November 29, 1945; he preceded her in death on June 7, 1993. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Laurel and Becky Johns of Creal Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Wayne Murphy of Creal Springs; grandchildren, Nikki and Randy Foss, Micah and Jeff Morrow, Joshua and Brandi Johns and Anita Basham; great grandchildren, John Lee Foss, Nathan Foss, Lisa Foss, Madisyn Moss, Micahel Moss, Joscelyn Morrow, Maci Johns, Justin Craig and Ryan Morrow; great great grandchildren, Ryan, Brylee and Briar; sisters and brother-in-law, Joan and George Davis and Dorothy Watson all of Creal Springs; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Betty was a lifetime member of the Creal Springs First Baptist Church. She was formerly employed at Allen Industries in Herrin and Nationwide Glove Factory in Harrisburg. She enjoyed camping and doing crafts, traveling and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.
