Betty L. Lopez MARION- 8220;Betty L. Lopez, 78, of Marion passed away at 4:05 AM, Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to Marion Regional Humane Society; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959 Mrs. Lopez was born January 13, 1930 in Benton to Benjamin Franklin and Bertha Mae (Smothers) Foster. She married Paul C. Owens, he preceded her in death on June 2, 1972; she later married Jose Lopez, he preceded her in death on February 18, 2004. Survivors include son, Paul E. Owens of Marion; daughter, Debby Reed of Marion; grandchildren, Rebecca Smith and Joshua Smith; and several nieces and nephews in the Benton area. She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands. Mrs. Lopez enjoyed traveling and spending her time in Arizona and the Metropolis Riverboat. She was a member of the Mesa Arizona American Legion. She was a homemaker and previously worked for Judge Teresa Sanders and her husband Attorney Mike Bernays. She loved life and will be missed greatly.
