Creal Springs—Betty June Newbold, 80, of Creal Springs, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2011 at 8:40 AM at Angel Acres in Marion. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 18, 2011 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Rev.Eddie Donelson will officiate. Burial will follow at Simmons Cemetery in Creal Springs. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 PM, Sunday, July 17, 2011at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home/ Post Office Box 411/ Marion, IL 62959. Betty was born on June 14, 1931 in Creal Springs to Orval & Betty Marie (Hood) Williams. She married Dennis Sherman Newbold on October 12, 1966 in Marion. Together, they shared forty-two wonderful years together. He preceded her in death on Saturday, March 22, 2008. Survivors include- Sister- Imogene Smith & husband Don of Phoenix, OR Sister- Kathleen Lee & husband Raymond of Damon, TX Brother- Orval Williams & wife Dorothy M. of Marion Brother- Curtis Roger Williams and wife Elaine Sue of Creal Springs Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews Step-son- Dennis Sherman Newbold, Jr and wife Helen of Inverness, FL Step-grandchild- Brent Jason Newbold and wife Laura She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and nephew- Steven Williams and his wife and child- Grace and Christian. Betty was a homemaker and enjoyed raising vegetables in her garden and sharing them with her neighbors, friends and family. Betty and Dennis loved to farm and all things that went with it, including caring for their chickens and pigs, Black Angus Cattle and Belgium Horses. She was an outstanding cook and was known for being a kind and generous person who loved her family and friends.
