Betty J. Gulledge MARION-Betty J. Gulledge, 81, of Marion passed away at 10:35 PM, Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 20, 2008 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Tim Ozment officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of the services on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Marion. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, Il 62959. Mrs. Gulledge was born October 7, 1927 in Marion, Illinois to Oral and Ruby (Wells) Blackburn. Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Gulledge of St. Louis, Missouri; daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Richard Palkovic of San Diego, California; and her cocker spaniel, “Kibbles”. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Gulledge was a longtime member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Marion. She formerly worked as an administrative assistant for the Marion Senior Citizens Center and Mayor Bob Butler. She had served on the Marion High School “Class of 1945” reunion committee. She was a sports fan with the NBA and College Basketball being among her favorites especially SIU Basketball. She was a big supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. She was a loving mother and friend and will be missed by all.
